Road Rage, new album from Quiet Riot

For me, Quiet Riot is one of those band that never really hit the lights. I have a couple of their early albums on vinyl but that’s it. The mask on this cover is a great choice. I know that there is something similar on Metal Health. I have no idea if that’s their calling card, like Iron Maidens Eddie or Motörheads… motörhead. It’s a cool cover in any case. It makes me want to listen...

Texas Releases new album

The last time Texas release an album was 2 years ago and I completely missed it. All albums prior to that one has a place in my collection. I do, however, feel that the earlier albums suited my testes better. It was more country-pop and blues-rock back then. Texas has since then evolved into something else. Maybe this new album is a step back to the origins. It will be interesting to hear. But I...

Treat – Swedish Hardrock Band releases live CD and bluray

I remember when Treat were new to the hardrock scene in Sweden. There was this radio show and there were two songs fetured. Not the I can remember which ones now but there was also an interview with Robert Ernlund. I think it was when Scratch and Bite came out. I got a couple of their early albums but later forgot about them. A couple of years back I once again got aquinted with Treat....

The Diamond Man Clan – new single

The Single “The Corner” is out now. It has some nice groove to it and I found it quite enjoyable. A bit on the soul/blues side but mainly hardrock I think. It’s of course hard to callify music and The Diamond Man Can isn’t an exception. In my world it’s a great teaser, I’d like to hear more form this band. Listen to it here: The Corner

In Memoriam – Sven-Erik Magnusson – 1942-2017

I think Sven-Eriks Magnusson is most known for being the lead singer in Sven-Ingvars. I’m not sure if he’s known outside of Sweden at all. The genre “Dansband”, which he represents, is typically Swedish I think. The term refers to that people dance to the music and by that I mean dancing together two and two. I feel that I need to clarify this because you can dance to any music basically. Just different dances....

New album from Alphaville

Last time I looked Alphaville were three people. Two of them were playing syntherzisers and the third handled the vocals. Now I read that they’re five and they play “real” instruments like guitar and drums. Ok, so it was many years ago. I have no idea what they have been doing since Forever Young basicly. But maybe I will check out the new album Strange Attractor and see if I’m into what Alphaville does these...

In Memoriam – Chuck Berry – 1926-2017

We all knew this day would come, the day when Rock n’ Roll pioneer Chuck Berry wouldn’t be with us anymore. Still, there’s a great deal of denial when we hear that our heroes pass away. In Chuck Berry’s case you can’t really say that he passed before his time though. The Rock n’ Roll Pioneer was 90 years old and still going string it seems. On his 90th birthday he announced that a new...

Another album from Deep Purple

Deep Purple releases a new album! The last Deep Purple album came out in 2013 and now it’s time for another one. The Lineup is more or less the same as it has been for the last few albums I think. Ritche Blackmore isn’t there but Steve Morse is, and Jon Lord has passed away and replaced by Don Airey. So… It’s not “more or less”, it’s excatly as before! is that a good thing?...

Brian May Kerry Ellis Golden Days 0

Brian May and Kerry Ellis with new album – Golden Days – 2017

What will this sound like? I have actually no idea what this is going to be. Of course I know that Brian May has been a part of Queen for decades. But he has also made solo albums during the years. He’s not to be confused with the soundtrack composer by the same name though. Kerry Ellis is connected to the musical scene I think. So… If we can combine rock with musical we might...
