Omni is Angra’s ninth studio album. Yet I have never heard of heard of them before. Angra is a Brasilian band but apparently, they’ve has some great success in both Europe and Japan. It’s not hard to hear why. It’s pretty good melodic power metal. The singer has a smooth operatic voice most of the time and the instrumentation is pretty standard. There are guitars, fast drums, and some keyboards.
Yet, for me, it doesn’t get more than ok or mediocre if you please. I feel that there aren’t enough recognizable melodies. it well performed but there’s something missing for me. There might be some progressions here and there. That included, with tempo changes, should appeal more to me than it actually does. it becomes too “standard” for my taste.
