Power Trip – Nightmare Logic – 2017

I never heard of this Thrash Metal band before but I decided to explore it to see what it was. I learned that it was some kind of crossover metal or cross over thrash even and that’s not necessarily a good thing. It’s not necessarily a bad thing either, there’s just not a general rula about it. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s not. Simple as that.

I really liked the music from the very beginning and thought that I had found a band that will give me some pleasure when it comes to the catalog. This is not Power Trips first album mind you, there is at least one from some years ago called Manifest Decimation. I haven’t heard it and I have no plans to do so in the near future and I’m gonna tell you why. Because even if I liked the music, the guitars, bass, drums and all that, I couldn’t get along with the vocal track. Not that the singer does a bad job or anything but the production makes it sound like he is standing inside a very small space with all the reverb that can be mustered. It sounds really terrible and I think that’s a shame because this band surely has potential!

I will probably check out coming albums as well to see if there’s been any change in that department. But for now it’s mediocre at best and it’s all because of the production when it comes to the singer. I don’t like it at all, but I hope you do, and I sure hope Power Trip does!
