Awqanákuy is a Hardrock band from Argentina. That means that the lyrics is in Spanish? I actually have no idea since I don’t speak or understand it. But I did a quick search and came up with that Latin Spanish spoken in South America is quite different from Spanish spoken in Spain. And, apparently, Spanish in Argentina is even more different.
Already in the first song I’m confused, as the riff seems heavily influenced by the intro to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Fortunate Son. Maybe it’s my mind playing tricks on me, and it’s certainly not something that affects the overall sound of the song. It’s still harder than Creedence ever was. Oh, and the cover art must be inspired by Judas Priest’s Screaming for Vengeance.
Sound- and production-wise, it sounds pretty sloppy, though. If I didn’t know Supraconciencia was from 2025, I would have guessed its origins were back in the mid-80s or something. It sounds just like it. And that’s about what you get as well. Nothing really distinguishes it from anything else, even though it’s not bad in any way.
