Ecstasy and Danger is the first full length album by the Belgian band Ostrogoth. I listen a bit to them in my youth but I don’t think I ever explored a full album with them. I hade som vinyls where they had a song or two included I think. My memories are vague to say the least.
However, when listen inte to Ecstasy and Danger, I find it to be a little milder than I remember it as. I was under impression that it was a really hard and heavy band. Of course, What you remember from you youth isn’t always the same thing as what the interpretation of it becomes when you listen from a modern perspective.
I don’t think they were pioneers in anyway but I think that the music hasn’t aged particularly well. It’s plain hardrock from the early 80s. And Ecstacy and Danger sounds like what you would expect. It’s not bad by any means. But if it were made today I think the production would sound a bit fuller. That would make it somewhat more listenable in my mind. But still it’s not bad. If you like “them good ole days” you’ll like this as well!
