Fire in the Brain is the second album by the Heavy Metal band Oz. They were originally from Finland but changed their location to Sweden at some point. I’m not sure when this change was made though. But since there are somewhat different personnel on Fire in the Brain compared to the first album Heavy Metal Legends I would find it probable it was made early in the career.
Ape De Martini has taken over the vocalist role, at least that what I thought. But it turns out that the alter ego names are coming in to place here. So, some of the credited names on the first album is actually the same people as on Fire in the Brain. I’m not too familiar with these names though. But what lead med to believe there’s another vocalist? Well, I don’t think the singing technique och vocals range are quite the same. I like the vocals better on the album. Simple as that really.
I think Fire in the Brain leans more toward classic Heavy Metal than than Hardrock. If that’s a good development is another question. I think it is. It should be, as I enjoyed this more than the first album. It’s a bot heavier, but also a bit more melodic and I think that the song writing process has gotten better.
If we’re speaking from a cult following point of view I think that Fire in the Brain is the album to look for. This is what everything else is compered to. Oh! …And the Hand appearantly belongs to Quorthon.
