In a post-apocalyptic world, Michael sends out radio transmissions until the day he is greeted by a stranger who claims to have heard another voice on the airwaves. Together they set out to find the strange voice. At the same time, a pregnant woman, the first in twenty years, and her mother set out to find other people. There is also a third group that wants to get hold of the pregnant woman’s child for their own purposes and eventually their paths converge. That’s how I think the plot of this film can be described.
It’s about the post-apocalypse and people live in protected buildings, underground, in caves and the like. There are some contradictions between the different groups, but for the most part it’s completely confusing. There’s no clarity in the motives behind any of the characters, and even if the film isn’t really bad in any way, it becomes a bit slow and pointless. Unmotivated characters is a good description of this film’s biggest problem! In the film’s closing argument, or whatever you should call it there is some kind of point, it must be admitted, but the road to it is so long and so tough that it is not certain that you will even have the strength to care about it.
