Burnin’ Rock is the second and final album by the Swedish Hardrock act Trash. I was excited to listen to this after listening to their first album Watch Out the other day. I have both album on vinyl from back in the day but had no real memories of them. More than I thought that the second album was a little bit better. At least that was what my memory told me.
Now, after listening, I’m not sop sure if I can trust my memory anymore. No, I’m not saying Burnin’ Rock is worse than their previous album. But I’m not saying it’s better either. There are a couple of songs that are better here, no doubt about that. But Burnin’ Rock is also more diverse. Some songs a really good, while others doesn’t give me anything. So… if you’re adding it all together it will place itself about on par with the Watch Out album.
I think the production values are about the same. It’s surprisingly good sounding for being from the era of the early och mid 80’s. Burnin’ Rock is a bit more varied I think. That’s not necessarily a good thing though. Maybe it would have been better to focus on the strengths than to try to include as much of everything as possible.
It’s an ok album though. How couldn’t it be?
