30 Days of Night: Dark Days – 2010
Stella, who survived the first film when the town of Barrow was invaded by vampires during the dark month, is now lecturing about what really happened. Of course, no one believes her when she talks about how the entire town was wiped out by vampires. People laugh. But a few, who have experienced similar events, find her and recruit her for their own goal – to locate and kill the leader vampire Lillith!
The plot in this sequel is not really more complicated than that. And they manage to do roughly what they set out to do, it is a fairly dense story even if it feels a bit simple at times. The acting is not top notch, especially when it comes to some of the less important roles of vampires and the like who behave somewhat stereotypically. It is a shame when they have obviously done something by trying to deviate from the stereotypes in the film and create originality instead. There are some neat transformations but overall a pretty slow and boring film.
